Our Story

Founded by Radmila Bota, House of Kapri is a Canadian fashion label inspired by a journey of resilience, craftsmanship, and reinvention. Influenced by her mother's work as a textile technician and a lifelong passion for design, Radmila created House of Kapri to offer elegant, timeless pieces that empower women to feel confident, sophisticated, and unforgettable.

House of Kapri was born from a lifelong dream, shaped by resilience, creativity, and the belief that beauty can emerge from even the most difficult circumstances.

I was born in Zadar, Croatia, in 1984, during what was then Yugoslavia. My childhood was marked by the Yugoslav Wars, and for five years I experienced the uncertainty and hardship that conflict brings. In 1995, my family was forced to leave our home during the ethnic cleansing that affected the region. We relocated to Serbia, where life was very different and often challenging.

In 1999, during the ceasefire following the bombing of Belgrade, my family immigrated to Canada. At fourteen years old, I arrived with hope, determination, and the opportunity to begin again.

My love for fashion began long before House of Kapri was created. Growing up, we did not have much. New clothing was a luxury, and I often wore garments that had been altered and reimagined by my mother, a talented textile technician. She had an extraordinary ability to transform fabric and breathe new life into clothing. Watching her work taught me that fashion was more than something you wear—it was creativity, craftsmanship, and self-expression.

Although I pursued many different careers throughout my life in Canada, the dream of creating my own fashion label never left me. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally decided to turn that dream into reality.

House of Kapri was founded with a simple vision: to create elegant, timeless pieces that empower women to feel confident, sophisticated, and unforgettable. Every design reflects my appreciation for quality fabrics, attention to detail, and the belief that fashion should celebrate individuality and strength.

Officially launched in 2024, House of Kapri represents more than a clothing brand. It is the culmination of a journey that spans continents, cultures, challenges, and new beginnings. It is a tribute to my mother’s craftsmanship, to perseverance through adversity, and to the power of never giving up on a dream.

Today, House of Kapri continues to grow with a commitment to quality, elegance, and purpose. We believe that every woman deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and empowered in what she wears.

Thank you for being part of our story.
